Technical Account Manager, Payments & API Integration
Overview
You will own technical relationships for Checkout.com's enterprise merchants, ensuring their payment infrastructure runs smoothly and scales with their growth. Acting as the bridge between clients and internal engineering, you will resolve complex issues, drive adoption of new features, and influence the product roadmap with customer insights. Working alongside a global team of technical account managers, you will partner with solutions engineers, product managers, and support teams across six continents. What You'll Do7
- 1Build and nurture strategic relationships with key clients, serving as their primary technical point of contact for all post-sales matters.
- 2Proactively analyze client payment data to identify optimization opportunities, driving increased acceptance rates and reduced costs.
- 3Resolve complex technical issues by debugging API integrations, webhooks, and payment flows, ensuring minimal disruption to merchant operations.
- 4Lead technical workshops and product demos to onboard new features, increase product adoption, and support upselling efforts.
- 5Coordinate the implementation of new payment methods and migrations, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project timelines.
- 6Gather and synthesize client feedback into feature requests and insights for the product roadmap, advocating for merchant needs.
- 7Monitor industry trends in payments, including regulations like PSD2 and 3DS, and share actionable intelligence with clients.
Requirements9
- 13+ years in an analytical or technical role, managing stakeholders across internal and external teams.
- 2Bachelor's degree in a relevant field like Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3Familiarity with payments industry regulations and frameworks: 3DS, SCA, AVS, and MIT.
- 4Hands-on experience with API-based integrations, including RESTful services, webhooks, and related testing tools.
- 5Working knowledge of front-end and back-end technologies such as JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
- 6Excellent communication skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences, with strong presentation abilities.
- 7Results-driven mindset focused on delivering exceptional customer satisfaction and proactive problem-solving.
- 8Knowledge of payment security standards like PCI-DSS is a plus.
- 9Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites as required.
