Systems Engineer, PLC & SCADA (Ignition)
Overview
You will own the design, implementation, and support of Ignition SCADA systems for industrial clients across Life Sciences, Chemical, and Food & Beverage. This customer-facing role spans system development, project execution, and troubleshooting, with direct impact on uptime and efficiency. You will work alongside operations, IT, and OT teams to integrate PLC platforms and deploy reliable automation solutions. What You'll Do9
- 1Build and maintain Ignition HMI/SCADA applications, integrating with PLC platforms like Rockwell, Siemens, and Schneider Electric.
- 2Ship dashboards and reporting tools that visualize plant data and drive operational decisions.
- 3Integrate Ignition with historians, databases, and enterprise systems using OPC-UA, MQTT, Modbus, and Ethernet/IP.
- 4Debug and resolve issues in PLC, SCADA, and network layers to minimize production downtime.
- 5Lead automation system upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management tasks.
- 6Drive projects from requirements gathering to commissioning, ensuring on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
- 7Create technical documentation, system configurations, and support procedures for internal and customer use.
- 8Support validation and compliance activities in regulated manufacturing environments when required.
- 9Optimize system performance and propose improvements to reliability and maintainability.

- 23+ years integrating PLC platforms (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider Electric).
- 32+ years building HMI/SCADA applications for manufacturing operations.
- 42+ years working with SQL databases, queries, and data integration.
- 52+ years troubleshooting automation, controls, and manufacturing systems.
- 62+ years in a customer-facing engineering or technical support role.
- 7Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 82+ years collaborating with cross-functional teams, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
