Systems Engineer II - AAM Control Laws
Overview
Systems Engineer II leads development of control laws for eVTOL vehicles. You will own functional and performance requirements. You will perform simulation modeling and analysis to design flight control laws. You will troubleshoot performance issues and propose modifications. You will integrate and test solutions on target platforms. This role differs by focusing on modern control techniques and cross-functional collaboration.
What You'll Do11
- 1Work with customers to develop Control Law functional and performance requirements
- 2Perform simulation modeling and analysis required to design flight control laws
- 3Troubleshoot Control Law performance issues and propose modifications as needed
- 4Perform integration and testing activities on off-on target test platforms
- 5Analyze flight test data and compare with expectations from linear nonlinear analysis models
- 6Participate in system engineering activities to demonstrate compliance to certification objectives
- 7Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop system level requirements
- 8Develop SW based implementation integration and verification activities
- 9Conduct functional integration and troubleshooting on system bench
- 10Analyze flight test data and compare with expectations from linear nonlinear analysis models
- 11Participate in customer interactions and occasional travel for requirements development
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline
- 2Minimum 2 years of experience in flight control law development with a focus on Modern Control
- 3Understanding of flight dynamics for multi-rotor eVTOL aircraft
- 4Knowledge of Classical Control Theory and optimization techniques
- 5Experience with requirements development and technical writing
- 6Expertise with Matlab Python and simulation tools
- 7Familiarity with ARP4754 and DO-178 standards
- 8U.S. citizenship or protected status due to export control laws
- 9Ability to travel for on-site testing and requirements development
- 10Master of Science degree preferred in Aerospace Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
