What You'll Do9

  • 1Assemble, integrate, and test spacecraft systems, structures, and mechanical assemblies using MLI and SLI insulation.
  • 2Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and work instructions.
  • 3Build and terminate wiring harnesses for racks, boxes, and spacecraft systems to high-quality standards.
  • 4Perform complete system leak checks, pressure testing, and alignment verification on spacecraft hardware.
  • 5Operate specialized test and integration equipment including hydraulic test consoles, cooling system consoles, alignment fixtures, and installation fixtures.
  • 6Use precision tools like calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and digital multimeters (DMMs) for inspection.
  • 7Mix and apply epoxy materials per specifications and record test results, generating discrepancy reports when needed.
  • 8Support integration activities, hardware movement, and launch preparation efforts.
  • 9Mentor team members and contribute to a culture of collaboration and excellence.

Requirements10

  • 14+ years of experience assembling high-reliability products, preferably in aerospace.
  • 2Experience building and terminating wiring harnesses to high-quality standards.
  • 31+ year of experience working with MLI or thermal blanket systems.
  • 4Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, engineering schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • 5Experience using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, DMMs, and depth gauges.
  • 6Experience with assembly tooling, composites fabrication, or composite assemblies.
  • 7Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
  • 8Experience mixing and applying epoxy materials.
  • 9J-STD-001 Space certification or NASA-STD-8739.4 certification (preferred).
  • 105+ years of spacecraft or aerospace integration experience (preferred).
