You will own clinical sign-out in GI/Hepatobiliary/Pancreas pathology at Thomas Jefferson University, a top-ranked academic medical center, joining a team of subspecialized pathologists within the Sidney Kimmel Medical College. You will join a 5+ pathologist group covering over 50,000 surgical specimens annually, with dedicated time for teaching and research. What You'll Do7

  • 1Sign out GI, liver, and pancreas surgical pathology cases, delivering accurate diagnoses within 48 hours.
  • 2Teach residents and fellows during daily sign-out and formal conferences, including GI Tumor Board and Liver Conference.
  • 3Develop a focused research project in translational pathology, leveraging departmental biorepositories and clinical cohorts.
  • 4Serve as a consultant for interdisciplinary care teams, providing expert guidance on challenging cases.
  • 5Participate in quality improvement initiatives to reduce turnaround time and diagnostic errors.
  • 6Present at national pathology meetings within the first 2 years.
  • 7Collaborate with translational researchers on grants and publications targeting NCI and NIH funding.

Requirements7

  • 1Board certification in Anatomic Pathology with GI/Liver fellowship training
  • 25+ years of sign-out experience in GI/Hepatobiliary/Pancreas pathology
  • 3Pennsylvania medical licensure or eligibility to obtain one
  • 4Track record of peer-reviewed publications in pathology
  • 5Experience teaching residents and fellows in an academic setting
  • 6Excellent verbal and written communication skills
