Overview
As a Support Lead at Five Below, you'll own the store's daily operations, ensuring every customer gets a fast, friendly checkout and every shift runs smoothly. You'll guide a team of 20,000+ associates in a high-energy retail environment, where the culture is all about WOWplace experiences and letting go to have fun. You'll act as Manager on Duty, handle opening and closing, and push sales through smart merchandising. This part-time role puts you at the heart of a discount retail leader, where your ideas and energy directly shape store success.
What You'll Do9
- 1Train crew on the B.E.S.T. customer service experience, ensuring each guest gets a fast, friendly checkout.
- 2Oversee daily store activities, keeping associates on task and delivering top-notch service.
- 3Receive, unpack, and organize new stock to get items on the floor fast.
- 4Act as Manager on Duty, owning store operations, staff management, and urgent issues.
- 5Run opening and closing procedures: secure cash, lock doors, set alarms, and prep the store.
- 6Support onboarding and ongoing training for associates, boosting product knowledge and store policies.
- 7Drive sales and control expenses through smart merchandising and staff performance.
- 8Partner with leadership on merchandising and World Recovery initiatives.
- 9Perform store maintenance: trash, sweeping, cleaning restrooms, and stock room upkeep.
Requirements10
- 11+ years of management experience in retail or similar environment.
- 2High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred.
- 3Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- 4Ability to multitask and think creatively.
- 5Maintain composure under pressure.
- 6Frequently operate a cash register and move merchandise up to 25 lbs.
- 7Climb ladders and position self to kneel, bend, twist, and stoop.
- 8Communicate with customers face-to-face and by phone.
- 9Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and occasional overnights.
- 10At least 18 years old and able to perform essential job functions.
