Supervising Pharmacist, Pharmacy Operations & Compliance
Overview
You will own pharmacy operations and compliance as the supervising pharmacist at TaftCare Pharmacy in New York, with hourly compensation of $75-$85. You will lead the pharmacy team under State Board of Pharmacy standards and DEA regulations. This role demands direct oversight of prescription fulfillment and patient safety protocols. What You'll Do10
- 1Oversee daily pharmacy operations and ensure compliance with New York State Board of Pharmacy and DEA regulations.
- 2Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy and therapeutic appropriateness, using Pharmacy Management Systems.
- 3Lead and supervise pharmacy technicians, scheduling staff to meet patient demand and operational targets.
- 4Implement and enforce HIPAA privacy practices and maintain patient confidentiality.
- 5Coordinate with healthcare providers to resolve prescription issues and optimize medication therapy.
- 6Manage inventory of controlled substances, including ordering and reconciliation, per DEA requirements.
- 7Conduct regular audits and quality assurance checks, documenting findings and corrective actions.
- 8Provide patient counseling on medication use and potential interactions, emphasizing safety.
- 9Keep updated on pharmacy laws and regulations, integrating changes into practice.
- 10Foster a culture of safety and efficiency, reducing errors and improving turnaround times.
Requirements10
- 1Valid New York Pharmacist License and CPC Card in good standing.
- 23+ years of supervisory experience in a retail or clinical pharmacy setting.
- 3Strong knowledge of DEA regulations and New York State pharmacy laws.
- 4Proficiency with pharmacy software and automated dispensing systems.
- 5Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage complex workflows.
- 6Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- 7Availability for full-time or part-time schedule, including occasional weekends.
- 8Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
- 9Experience with Medicare and Medicaid billing is preferred.
- 10Certification in immunization delivery is a plus.
