Superintendent Role at Cal Solar Inc
Overview
The Superintendent oversees field operations across multiple projects to ensure timely profitable completion. This position provides leadership to field teams and coordinates with senior management to maintain safety and efficiency. Candidates must have extensive experience in commercial solar construction and strong supervisory abilities.
What You'll Do11
- 1Partner with Safety Manager to maintain proactive safety culture and conduct weekly toolbox meetings
- 2Lead pre-mobilization meetings and perform jobsite walks to identify potential field conditions
- 3Oversee start-up and preplanning with Project Foreman including BOM forecasting and material visibility
- 4Provide daily oversight of timecard entries and coordinate with Payroll for resolution
- 5Communicate field deficiencies and interface with subcontractors to resolve technical issues
- 6Maintain accurate project status reports for Project Manager regarding cost schedule quality and safety
- 7Develop and execute weekly FLT reviews to compare production rates and identify improvements
- 8Coordinate with client and engineering teams on change orders and schedule updates
- 9Ensure compliance with safety policies and prepare comprehensive documentation for AHJ submissions
- 10Train and mentor field teams focusing on quality craftsmanship and continuous improvement
- 11Track material usage against budgets to identify cost-saving opportunities
Requirements8
- 1Minimum 7 years experience in commercial industrial solar construction
- 2Proven leadership experience managing field operations and crews
- 3Strong understanding of NEC NFPA 70E and plumbing code requirements
- 4Experience with UBC building codes and construction methodologies
- 5OSHA-30 certification and licensed electrician preferred
- 6Bilingual English Spanish communication skills
- 7Familiarity with Dropbox SCOOP and Microsoft applications
- 8Ability to work extended hours and travel within California
Salary Insight
$115 - $135k per year
