Overview
Design comprehensive substation design documentation for electric power systems spanning 12kV to 500kV. Lead creation of single line diagrams electrical schematics wiring diagrams panel layout drawings complete battery loading and voltage drop studies develop detailed bills of materials review vendor equipment drawings collaborate across disciplines assist in process improvement perform engineering calculations apply relevant standards. Seeking a professional proficient in AutoCAD Electrical with Substation Design Suite (SDS). High school diploma required associate degree preferred. 2+ years substation protection controls electrical design experience with CAD software in utility projects. What You'll Do11
- 1Develop or modify single line diagrams electrical schematics elementaries wiring diagrams panel layout drawings complete battery loading and voltage drop studies
- 2Create complete bill of materials for all required electrical equipment and materials
- 3Review and comment on vendor equipment drawings
- 4Collaborate with substation physical design teams to complete assignments
- 5Assist project team in developing efficiency processes and procedures
- 6Perform basic engineering calculations to support design work
- 7Apply client national and state standards to assignments
- 8Utilize AutoCAD Electrical with Substation Design Suite (SDS)
- 9Maintain proficiency with Windows applications like Word and Excel
- 10Learn and implement new design software programs quickly
- 11Work within cross-functional teams including project managers engineers designers and drafters
Requirements10

- 22+ years direct substation protection controls electrical design experience using CAD software in utility projects
