Overview
Coordinate the Student Ministry Midweek Program for Middle School students at Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church, partnering with the Co-Directors to build a safe space where students learn to love God, others, and themselves. Own weekly planning, teaching moments, and volunteer coordination while investing in students through one-on-ones and events. What You'll Do9
- 1Plan and execute weekly Midweek Program for middle schoolers, from games to teaching segments.
- 2Design and lead monthly special events, such as Trunk or Treat, engaging students and families.
- 3Teach during Sunday or Midweek services 2-4 times per semester, delivering age-appropriate messages.
- 4Coordinate weekly volunteer schedules and provide leadership training for student ministry volunteers.
- 5Conduct regular one-on-ones and small group meetings with students, offering mentorship and support.
- 6Manage contact work via phone and social media, keeping students connected throughout the week.
- 7Participate in weekly team meetings and staff meetings, contributing to ministry strategy.
- 8Ensure compliance with the Child Protection Policy, acting as a mandatory reporter.
- 9Collaborate with church staff on all-church events and initiatives.
Requirements7
- 12+ years of college completed or equivalent life experience.
- 2A growing relationship with Jesus and a passion for youth ministry.
- 3Experience planning or leading youth programs, such as camps, small groups, or Sunday school.
- 4Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for teaching and parent interaction.
- 5Ability to work 15-20 hours per week, including Sundays and midweek evenings.
- 6Flexible schedule with availability for Monday-Thursday office hours and occasional weekends.
- 7Team-oriented mindset, thriving in a collaborative ministry environment.
