Structural Steel Saw Operator Job in Salt Lake City
Overview
Operate structural steel saws to cut beam, channel, angle, tube, and pipe to exact project specifications at EZARC, Inc. in Pleasant Grove, Utah. You will own the cutting process from reading cut lists to loading steel with a forklift, coordinating with the Shop Manager on priorities. This role offers training if you have the right attitude and mechanical aptitude, making it a solid entry point into structural steel fabrication.
What You'll Do6
- 1Operate structural steel saws to cut beam, channel, angle, tube, and pipe to required lengths and specifications.
- 2Read and follow cut lists and basic shop instructions to prioritize daily cutting tasks.
- 3Load and unload steel using a forklift, moving material safely and efficiently within the shop.
- 4Check measurements with a tape measure to ensure quality and accuracy on every piece.
- 5Coordinate with the Shop Manager on cutting priorities to keep production on schedule.
- 6Follow all safety rules and wear required PPE including hard hat or bump cap, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
Requirements5
- 1Experience operating steel saws preferred; training available for the right candidate.
- 2Forklift experience required; forklift certification preferred.
- 3Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16 inch.
- 4Ability to safely lift and handle heavy steel materials, up to 50 pounds or more.
- 5Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced fabrication shop environment.
