Overview
You own the full store operation for Cavender's, a leading Western wear retailer, driving sales, profit, and team performance. You report to the District Manager and lead a team of associates. Your role blends business strategy with hands-on execution, from hiring and training to inventory and payroll. What You'll Do12
- 1Support the Cavender's Culture and drive our Mission, Vision, and Values in daily operations.
- 2Manage all aspects of the retail facility, supervising all store associates and their schedules.
- 3Screen, hire, train, and discharge store associates to build a high-performing team.
- 4Oversee day-to-day operations, including opening and closing the store, handling store funds, and maintaining records.
- 5Drive sales growth, maximize profitability, and control expenses through strategic planning.
- 6Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures among all personnel.
- 7Maintain store image and appearance, including interior/exterior cleanliness and professional associate presentation.
- 8Train and motivate sales staff to maximize department sales, while actively selling and soliciting new business.
- 9Coordinate receiving, special orders, transfers, and vendor returns for defects or unordered merchandise.
- 10Prepare payroll, deposits, invoices, and end-of-month paperwork accurately and on time.
- 11Manage inventory pricing, markdowns, and supply purchasing to minimize waste and optimize gross profit.
- 12Implement marketing communications and advertised items to ensure consistency and drive sales.
Requirements9
- 15+ years of successful retail experience.
- 25+ years of progressive operational leadership experience.
- 33+ years of successful store or general management in retail.
- 4Ability to work at least 48 hours per week, including weekends and holidays, and respond to emergencies.
- 5Physical capability to stand, walk, reach, and bend for extended periods, and lift or move objects regularly.
- 6Strong verbal communication and comprehension skills to understand instructions and interact effectively.
- 7Ability to interpret documents and convey ideas clearly.
- 8Preferred: 2+ years in Western-related industries.
- 9Preferred: college degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience.
