What You'll Do11
- 1Perform decontamination inspection assembly packaging sterilization storage and distribution of reusable medical devices and surgical instrumentation
- 2Operate sterile processing equipment such as washers sterilizers and related technologies following departmental policies
- 3Inspect instruments and equipment for cleanliness functionality and completeness identifying items needing repair or replacement
- 4Assemble instrument trays procedure sets and equipment according to standardized tray listings and quality standards
- 5Utilize instrument tracking systems to document processing activities and maintain traceability of reusable medical devices
- 6Maintain inventory of sterile supplies processing consumables and departmental stock to support operational needs
- 7Transport instruments equipment and supplies to support procedural and patient care areas
- 8Recognize and communicate equipment malfunctions processing concerns quality issues and safety risks to appropriate personnel
- 9Comply with regulatory accreditation infection prevention and departmental standards
- 10Participate in training competency validation and continuous improvement activities
- 11Apply knowledge of sterile processing principles instrumentation sterilization methods and infection prevention standards
Requirements10
- 1High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 2Certified Registered Central Service Technician CRCST or C.S.P.D.T certification required
- 31-2 years experience as a Central Sterile Technician or similar role in healthcare
- 4Working knowledge of sterile processing principles instrumentation sterilization methods and infection prevention standards
- 5Proficiency in instrument assembly packaging sterilization and equipment handling
- 6Ability to follow detailed procedures quality standards and safety protocols
- 7Strong attention to detail and capacity for repetitive accurate tasks
