Overview
You will own daily coordination between the OR schedule and Sterile Processing Department at a multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center. Oversee SPD staff to ensure efficient case flow with a Monday-Friday daytime schedule, no call, nights, weekends, or holidays. What You'll Do8
- 1Coordinate daily activities between the OR schedule and SPD to ensure seamless case flow
- 2Supervise SPD staff, assigning tasks and monitoring workflow
- 3Verify instrumentation and supplies meet surgical case needs before each procedure
- 4Implement sterilization protocols compliant with AAMI standards
- 5Train new staff on SPD processes and instrument handling
- 6Collaborate with surgeons and OR nurses to resolve instrument issues
- 7Maintain inventory levels for sterile supplies and instruments
- 8Conduct quality checks on sterilized packages and biological indicators
Requirements7
- 12+ years experience in a multi-specialty OR environment
- 2CRCST or CSPDT certification preferred
- 3CPR accredited by AHA required
- 4Graduate of a Sterile Processing Program
- 5Knowledge of sterile processing operations and issues
- 6Knowledge of medical instruments and surgical procedures as related to the OR
- 7Ability to handle multiple tasks and demonstrate clinical competency and leadership
