Overview
Design and fabricate hands-on STEM projects for children aged 3–12 at NORY, the largest STEM camp provider in NYC with 4,000+ campers. You will prototype Arduino-based electronics, woodworking, and 3D printing builds that fuel immersive learning journeys. Collaborate with a mission-driven team of educators to craft storytelling-driven experiences that inspire Generation Alpha. What You'll Do7
- 1Build Arduino and Raspberry Pi circuits with motors and sensors for camp projects.
- 2Fabricate woodworking and laser cutting prototypes tailored to children aged 3–12.
- 3Integrate coding tools like Scratch and Python into interdisciplinary STEM activities.
- 4Design immersive thematic worlds that blend storytelling with hands-on engineering challenges.
- 5Coach teachers via video tutorials to deliver consistent, safe fabrication experiences.
- 6Adapt project complexity to match child development stages and interests.
- 7Test and iterate on prototypes using feedback from campers and staff.
Requirements7
- 13+ years in maker education or fabrication with Arduino and Raspberry Pi.
- 2Demonstrable portfolio of projects in 3D printing, laser cutting, or woodworking.
- 3Proficiency in Scratch or Python for teaching coding to young learners.
- 4Experience designing and delivering hands-on STEM curriculum for ages 3–12.
- 5Strong communication skills to train teachers through video and written guides.
- 6Understanding of child development stages and age-appropriate design.
- 7Ability to work onsite in NYC for a seasonal contract role.
