Staff Physician MD/DO, Urgent Care & Family Medicine
Overview
As a Staff Physician at American Family Care Aurora City Center, you own patient outcomes in a high-volume urgent care setting averaging 100+ weekly visits. You lead a clinical team of 3-5 nurses and technicians, directing care from triage to discharge. This role stands apart through its hybrid urgent care and occupational medicine model, backed by onsite x-ray and lab capabilities. You deliver episodic treatment for acute illnesses, injuries, and workers' comp cases, with full authority over clinical protocols.
What You'll Do7
- 1Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and injuries, ordering and interpreting x-rays and lab tests during shifts.
- 2Supervise clinical staff during every shift, assigning tasks and ensuring adherence to care standards.
- 3Document patient encounters in EHR within 24 hours, completing charts and medical records.
- 4Process biological specimens for lab analysis when needed, maintaining chain of custody.
- 5Direct patient flow to minimize wait times, coordinating with front desk and nursing teams.
- 6Respond to medical emergencies, performing CPR and stabilizing patients until transfer.
- 7Educate patients on follow-up care and preventive measures, reducing readmission rates.
Requirements7
- 1Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, or Internal Medicine.
- 25+ years clinical experience in urgent care or emergency room settings.
- 3Active and current medical licensure in Colorado, with valid DEA number and state-controlled substance certificate.
- 4Proven ability to multi-task, managing 10+ patients per shift with varying acuity.
- 5Excellent verbal and written communication with staff, patients, and families.
- 6Professional appearance and attitude representing the clinic's brand.
- 7Ability to work independently and make rapid clinical decisions under pressure.
Salary Insight
$208 - $250k per year
