Overview
Own execution of engine integration hardware across multiple defense programs at L3Harris Missile Solutions in Canoga Park, CA. Lead technical, cost, and schedule elements using Earned Value Management principles, collaborating with engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain teams. Drive propulsion production processes from design through qualification for advanced systems. This role offers direct customer interface and up to 30% travel to suppliers and production sites.
What You'll Do8
- 1Manage project plans and update them to align with program command media, tracking milestones and deliverables.
- 2Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure successful component completion.
- 3Apply Earned Value Management to monitor cost and schedule performance, and support proposal development with WBS and IMS inputs.
- 4Brief management and program managers, and support customer briefings on project status and technical issues.
- 5Develop and implement propulsion production processes, tooling, and equipment design, including material evaluation plans.
- 6Evaluate component environment test results and participate in failure or anomaly investigations for project components.
- 7Mentor junior engineers and support cross-functional engineering teams in technical problem-solving.
- 8Travel up to 30% to supplier and production sites as needed.
Requirements9
- 16+ years of engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 4+ years with a Master's degree, or 10+ years without a degree.
- 2Experience with Microsoft Office including Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- 3Knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, and general production systems and lean manufacturing principles.
- 4Experience with Earned Value Management Systems and as a cost account manager.
- 5Experience with government propulsion customers and prime contractors.
- 6Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and customer/vendor interactions.
- 7Experience in failure/anomaly investigation and evaluating component test results.
- 8Preferred: Bachelor's in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, experience with CREO and Windchill, and design/manufacturing of liquid rocket engine components.
- 9Preferred: Experience with small hypergolic propulsion systems and generating proposals including WBS, IMS, and BOE inputs.
