Sr Program Manager, Software & Scientific Data Platforms
Overview
Program management ownership of cross-functional software and data platform programs at scale in a Columbus based team. You will align scope, timeline, and resources across engineering, product, and design, while communicating progress to executives. You will coach other managers and drive continuous improvement in how we report status and escalate issues. This role blends software delivery discipline with scientific data platforms work to enable drug discovery and IP research teams.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead end-to-end planning and execution for major programs across engineering, product, and design
- 2Partner with product and design leads to define goals and success metrics and communicate them clearly to all teams
- 3Coordinate delivery of AI driven discovery tools and scientific data platforms used daily by researchers
- 4Identify risks and dependencies early and communicate transparently to stakeholders
- 5Build and deliver program roadmaps, status reports, and executive updates that translate complex technical detail into clear narratives
- 6Facilitate program rituals that create true alignment and know when concise updates are preferable to live meetings
- 7Influence prioritization decisions by presenting data, trade-offs, and recommendations to leaders
- 8Manage difficult conversations with poise and reset expectations without eroding trust
- 9Coach other program managers on stakeholder communication and program best practices
- 10Continuously improve program communications, status reporting formats, escalation paths, and documentation standards
Requirements10
- 16+ years of program or project management experience in software or tech environments
- 2Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to switch between technical detail and executive framing
- 3Proven ability to build trust and strong relationships with stakeholders from engineers to senior leadership
- 4Proactive, transparent communication to surface risks, delays, and trade-offs early
- 5Experience running status reporting and executive updates that drive action
- 6Comfort navigating misalignment or tough conversations with tact and confidence
- 7Strong track record influencing decisions and priorities without direct authority
- 8Proven capability delivering large, cross-functional programs on time and within budget
- 9Strong command of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid methodologies and proficiency with JIRA and Confluence
- 10Familiarity with SDLC and release management processes
