Sr DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes Migration & CI/CD
Overview
You will own application migration activities from assessment through production cutover, with a strong focus on Kubernetes-hosted applications. You will work hands-on with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native tools. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless migration with zero downtime. This role demands deep technical expertise and a proactive mindset to drive complex migrations.
What You'll Do7
- 1Lead application migration activities from assessment through production cutover, ensuring Kubernetes workloads are optimized for performance and reliability.
- 2Assess dependencies, manifests, container images, integrations, data flows, and CI/CD pipelines to build migration plans.
- 3Execute migration runbooks, automate repetitive tasks with Python or Shell scripting, and reduce manual effort.
- 4Collaborate with developers to refactor applications for Kubernetes and Docker best practices, improving scalability and resilience.
- 5Debug and resolve migration issues across AWS or Azure, including networking, storage, and security configurations.
- 6Drive post-migration validation, monitoring, and tuning to meet SLAs and ensure application stability.
- 7Document migration processes and runbooks for future reference and to enable team scalability.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of experience in DevOps or site reliability engineering with a strong focus on Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- 23+ years hands-on experience with Docker, Helm, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- 3Proficiency in Python or Go for automation and tooling.
- 4Experience with cloud providers such as AWS or Azure, including IAM, VPC, and load balancing.
- 5Solid understanding of networking concepts, DNS, and load balancers in a containerized environment.
- 6Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation and configuration management with Ansible.
- 7Strong troubleshooting skills for container orchestration, including pod scheduling, service discovery, and ingress.
- 8Able to work onsite in San Jose, CA and legally authorized to work in the US.
