Sr. BIT Engineer, Broadcast & IT Support
Overview
As a Sr. BIT Engineer, you will own the technical health of live and recorded production systems at Warner Bros. Discovery in Washington, D.C. You will support a broadcast and IT infrastructure that includes control rooms, studios, data centers, and transmission systems. Your team collaborates with engineering, field operations, and clients to ensure seamless operations. This role stands out because you will work across both traditional broadcast and modern IP-based workflows, with direct impact on high-profile content production.
What You'll Do7
- 1Install and maintain broadcast and IT equipment in studios, control rooms, and data centers to support live and recorded programming.
- 2Troubleshoot and resolve issues with A/V routing, cameras, switchers, audio mixers, and encoders in production environments.
- 3Deploy and support IP-based broadcast systems, including data networking for video and audio transport.
- 4Diagnose and repair board-level and component-level failures in broadcast gear.
- 5Escalate and document issues using ITSM service management systems, following change management processes.
- 6Support outside broadcasts and field productions by configuring and checking ENG crew gear as needed.
- 7Collaborate with team members and clients to solve complex technical problems and improve system reliability.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of hands-on experience in broadcast and IT engineering, including maintenance of broadcast systems.
- 2Strong knowledge of A/V routing, signal processing, and production systems like cameras, switchers, and audio mixers.
- 3Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment at board and component level.
- 4Experience with IP networking and IT infrastructure in a broadcast or multimedia environment.
- 5Familiarity with ITSM frameworks and change management processes.
- 6Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients.
- 7Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work a rotating shift schedule.
- 8A degree in engineering or equivalent technical experience is preferred but not required.
Salary Insight
$103 - $191k per year
