What You'll Do11
- 1Utilize Sony ELC automation system to direct live and recorded newscasts and programs
- 2Prepare show rundowns by coding automation cues in iNews
- 3Collaborate with Producers to ensure talent placement and camera blocking
- 4Operate camera robotics audio console switcher and floor direct as needed
- 5Oversee master control operations during newscasts sporting events and live programming
- 6Monitor output signals for two to four channels to ensure quality control of audio video and closed captioning
- 7Execute breaking news cut ins roll breaks for live events and manipulate playlist for join in progress scenarios
- 8Ensure feeds for syndicated programs and live events are routed correctly
- 9Oversee recording of locally produced programs syndicated and paid programs promotional material and commercial content and prepare shows for air by segmenting to standardized formats
- 10Transfer media into automation system and prep for playback
- 11Check broadcast logs for accuracy verify playlists and events are correct and make changes when required
Requirements5
- 1Knowledge of studio and remote broadcasting technology including Sony ELC automation XVS-9000 switcher Wheatstone audio console Bitcentral Playout ISQ Playout of Chyron Mosaic Power Clips and Vinten Fusion camera control
- 2Experience using Evertz Mediator and running master control operations during live newscasts sporting events and other live programming
- 3Overseeing the recording of locally produced programs and downloading and prepping of syndicated programs
- 4Minimum two years experience directing and/or technical directing on-air for live news programming
- 5Master Control experience preferred
