Spray Technician Job at Sharon Heights Golf
Overview
You will own the safe and accurate application of turfgrass treatments across 18 championship greens and fairways at Sharon Heights Golf & Country Club. Working with a respected agronomy team, you will operate modern spray equipment to maintain tournament-ready conditions. This full-time role includes benefits, meals, and tuition support. You will stand out by bringing a California Qualified Applicator License or the drive to earn it within your first season.
What You'll Do9
- 1Calibrate spray equipment to ensure exact application rates for fertilizers and pesticides
- 2Apply fungicides and herbicides to greens, tees, and fairways on a weekly schedule
- 3Mix chemical solutions following label instructions and safety protocols
- 4Inspect turf for disease, pests, and nutrient deficiencies to adjust treatment plans
- 5Maintain application logs and inventory records for all chemical products
- 6Coordinate with the agronomy team to align spraying with mowing and irrigation cycles
- 7Wear and care for personal protective equipment during all chemical handling
- 8Keep spray tanks, nozzles, and pumps clean and in working order
- 9Report equipment malfunctions to the superintendent within the same shift
Requirements8
- 1High school diploma or equivalent
- 2Valid California Driver's License with acceptable driving record
- 3California Qualified Applicator License (QAL) or Qualified Applicator Certificate, or ability to obtain one
- 4Experience applying pesticides, fertilizers, and plant protectants
- 5Knowledge of turfgrass management practices
- 6Skill in calibrating and operating spray equipment, preferably at a private club or championship facility
- 7Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- 8Comfort working early mornings, weekends, and holidays as seasonal demands require
