Lawn Care Spray Technician, Herbicide & Weed Control
Overview
You will own chemical spray treatments for residential and commercial turf across Miami, ensuring weed control and plant health at scale. You'll work hands-on with herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers in a fast-moving field role. You'll report to a crew lead, collaborate with a small team of technicians, and directly impact property aesthetics. This role stands out because you'll operate certified equipment and manage routes independently from day one.
What You'll Do9
- 1Spray herbicides and pesticides on turf to control weeds and pests across residential and commercial properties.
- 2Mix and load chemicals per label instructions, calibrating spray equipment for accurate application.
- 3Inspect each property for weed pressure, pest activity, and turf health before treatment.
- 4Document every application with digital records, noting rates, dates, and site conditions.
- 5Communicate with property owners about treatment plans and any safety precautions.
- 6Maintain spray rigs, nozzles, and tanks to prevent clogs and ensure even coverage.
- 7Follow all safety protocols, including PPE use and wind direction checks, to avoid drift.
- 8Complete route schedules on time, adjusting for weather or access issues as they arise.
- 9Troubleshoot equipment failures on site and perform field repairs to minimize downtime.
Requirements7
- 12+ years spraying herbicides or pesticides in lawn care, agriculture, or pest control.
- 2State pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- 3Hands-on experience with backpack sprayers, boom sprayers, or truck-mounted rigs.
- 4Knowledge of weed identification and herbicide modes of action.
- 5Valid driver's license and clean driving record to operate company vehicles.
- 6Physical stamina to lift 50 lbs and walk property sites in Miami heat.
- 7High school diploma or equivalent; OSHA safety training is a plus.
