What You'll Do7

  • 1Evaluate students to identify speech, language, and communication needs using standardized assessments and clinical observation.
  • 2Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP goals and student needs.
  • 3Provide direct therapy in articulation, language, fluency, and social communication using evidence-based interventions.
  • 4Complete assessments and progress reports, maintaining accurate documentation per district, state, and federal rules.
  • 5Lead IEP meetings and collaborate with teachers, administrators, and related service providers to coordinate services.
  • 6Monitor student progress and adjust therapy strategies based on data and observation.
  • 7Support inclusive classrooms by training staff and adapting materials for student communication growth.

Requirements7

  • 1Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • 2Valid Minnesota SLP license from the Minnesota Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board, or eligibility.
  • 3Valid MDE license for school-based practice in Minnesota.
  • 4CCC-SLP from ASHA, or completion of Clinical Fellowship requirements.
  • 5Completion of required clinical experience as mandated by licensure.
  • 6Knowledge of IDEA and IEP development in school settings.
  • 7Successful background screening and district onboarding completion.
