School Speech Language Pathologist, K-12
Overview
You will own speech therapy delivery for K-12 students across a supportive district, managing a caseload of 15-25 students with diverse needs. You join a team of 12 SLPs and 4 CFs, backed by a dedicated special education coordinator. This role stands apart as the district welcomes Clinical Fellows, offering structured mentorship from day one. You will work on-site, Monday through Friday, with no travel between buildings, ensuring predictable hours and deep community connection.
What You'll Do7
- 1Deliver direct speech and language therapy to 40-50 K-12 students per week, following each student's IEP goals
- 2Conduct speech-language assessments for 10-12 new referrals per month, writing evaluation reports and treatment plans
- 3Collaborate with classroom teachers and special education staff to integrate therapy goals into daily instruction
- 4Maintain accurate case management records and progress notes in the district's IEP system within 48 hours of each session
- 5Lead IEP meetings for a caseload of 25 students, setting measurable goals and updating families on progress
- 6Provide both group and individual therapy sessions, adapting interventions to each student's communication profile
- 7Support augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) users, partnering with assistive technology specialists
Requirements7
- 1Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- 2Active Minnesota SLP license (required, attach PDF with application)
- 3CCC-SLP certification from ASHA, or eligibility as a Clinical Fellow with graduation completed by August 2026
- 41+ year of school-based experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply
- 5Strong collaboration skills with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- 6Proficiency in documentation and case management software (e.g., IEP Direct, SEIS)
- 7Commitment to inclusive education and culturally responsive practices
