What You'll Do7
- 1Receive incoming specimens for clinical testing, including blood, urine, and tissue samples.
- 2Triage specimens by priority and type to route them to the correct testing area.
- 3Verify specimen labeling against accompanying documentation to confirm patient identity and test orders.
- 4Log specimen data into the lab information system to maintain chain of custody.
- 5Resolve labeling discrepancies by notifying the appropriate clinical staff.
- 6Maintain a clean and organized specimen receiving area to prevent contamination or mix-ups.
- 7Follow established safety protocols for handling biohazardous materials.
Requirements6
- 13+ months of experience working in a laboratory setting is mandatory.
- 2Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs.
