Overview

Own the bar at O.W.L Coffee Roasters, a specialty roastery opening its first café inside Mike's Bikes in Boulder, Colorado. You will craft espresso drinks, pour-overs, and brewed coffee while building a welcoming community hub. Join a small team where your ideas shape café culture from day one, and grow with a business that values relationships and learning over pre-existing barista skills.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Pull espresso shots, steam milk, and brew pour-over and batch coffee to O.W.L. standards.
  • 2Assemble and serve café food while following all food safety and sanitation rules.
  • 3Operate the point-of-sale system and process transactions with accuracy.
  • 4Greet every customer with warmth, learn their names, and make them feel at home.
  • 5Master our coffee origins, roast profiles, and menu to answer questions with confidence.
  • 6Keep the café spotless and fully stocked from open to close, including opening and closing checklists.
  • 7Track inventory and flag supply needs before they run out.
  • 8Run solo shifts with a positive attitude and handle rushes with calm.
  • 9Support roasting, packaging, and other café ops as needed.
  • 10Represent O.W.L. at community events like group rides, fundraisers, and tastings, even outside café hours.

  • 1Food handler certification or willingness to obtain it.
  • 21+ years of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
  • 3Prior barista experience is a plus but not required.
  • 4Positive, people-first attitude and genuine delight in serving others.
  • 5Dependable, punctual, and trustworthy with a strong work ethic.
  • 6Comfortable working independently and taking initiative.
  • 7Sharp attention to detail and clear communication skills.
  • 8Ability to multitask and stay composed when the line is long.
  • 9Open to learning and accepting coaching from the team.
  • 10Passion for specialty coffee and community building.
