Special Education Teacher - Life Skills: Schweitzer Elementary
Overview
The Neshaminy School District seeks a Life Skills Support Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. This role involves providing specialized instruction to students with significant cognitive developmental communication adaptive and/or multiple disabilities. Responsibilities include designing explicit systematic evidence-based lessons across foundational and functional academic areas as well as social interpersonal self-regulation and personal care. Collaboration with families general education teachers and related service providers ensures coordinated programs that promote inclusion and independence. Start date August 2026.
What You'll Do7
- 1Design Build and deliver explicit systematic evidence based instruction in English language arts mathematics science and social studies along with functional academics communication and self regulation skills
- 2Lead Scale and Own Individualized Education Programs to drive meaningful progress for each student
- 3Conduct Debug Drive debugging instructional challenges and implement solutions
- 4Drive Streamline classroom processes and optimize resource utilization
- 5Collaborate with families and team members to create inclusive educational experiences
- 6Maintain accurate records and communicate student outcomes
- 7Participate in Demonstration Lessons and complete two interviews as part of selection process
Requirements5
- 1Valid PA certification for K-12 special education
- 25+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 3Certified in CPC Card BCBA AWS Certified
- 4Good standing with Act 48 credits and required background checks including Child Abuse Clearance FBI clearance and PA State Police Criminal Check
- 5Experience working with students with significant cognitive developmental communication adaptive and/or multiple disabilities
