Special Education Teacher, Emotional Support Classroom & Charter School
Overview
This role owns specialized instruction for students in Grades 6-8 within an Emotional Support classroom at a Philadelphia charter school. You will collaborate with families and staff, adapt strategies to IEP goals, and contribute to positive behavioral and academic outcomes. Work onsite full-time in a supportive team environment that values professional growth.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and deliver instruction aligned with IEP goals in an Emotional Support setting
- 2Design and implement classroom supports and accommodations to promote student success
- 3Foster positive behavioral and academic outcomes through evidence-based practices
- 4Collaborate with families, teachers, and support staff to monitor progress and adjust plans
- 5Maintain ongoing communication and documentation of student progress and needs
- 6Contribute to a positive classroom culture and inclusive learning environment
- 7Collect and analyze data to measure progress toward IEP objectives
- 8Coordinate with school teams to ensure consistency across services
- 9Support transitions between grades and school year planning
- 10Ensure compliance with school policies and state special education requirements
Requirements9
- 1Active Pennsylvania Special Education License
- 2PDE Certification in Special Education
- 3Experience supporting students with emotional and behavioral needs preferred
- 4Commitment to inclusive education and student-centered planning
- 5Ability to work onsite in Philadelphia full-time
- 6Strong collaboration and communication skills
- 7Demonstrated ability to implement IEP goals with fidelity
- 8Attention to confidentiality and professional ethics
- 9Experience in working with middle school students (grades 6-8)
