Overview
The teacher will implement the district curriculum and support students with exceptional needs in a 6th grade setting at Roosevelt School District 66. This onsite, full-time role reports to the school administrator and collaborates with a team of educators to deliver instruction, manage records, and engage families. The position emphasizes adherence to state and district testing guidelines and participation in in-service programs.
What You'll Do10
- 1Teach and implement the district curriculum and scope and sequence
- 2Prepare weekly lesson plans and submit substitute plans quarterly
- 3Maintain up-to-date grade books and student records including attendance and cumulative folders
- 4Instruct and guide student achievement toward district-mandated competencies in each content area
- 5Follow assertive discipline and ensure health, safety, and welfare of students
- 6Contribute to school operations and maintain inventory of instructional materials
- 7Engage in parent communications and attend two evening conferences per year
- 8Participate in in-service workshops and unit meetings as required
- 9Collaborate with staff to support special area classes and open houses
- 10Support open house events and parent-teacher functions as appropriate
