Special Asset Manager, Real Estate Finance & LIHTC
Overview
Own the strategic oversight and performance improvement of a real estate investment portfolio on watchlists or showing decline signs. Lead recovery strategies, ensure regulatory and partnership compliance, and protect investment value at scale. Collaborate across teams and with investors to drive asset performance and data-driven decisions. This role blends analytics, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional execution to advance departmental excellence.
What You'll Do6
- 1Build and maintain optimal performance and compliance for stabilized properties and equity investments while proactively managing financial and operational risks
- 2Assess underperforming assets, develop recovery strategies, and guide watchlist decisions through performance analysis and site evaluations
- 3Drive timely performance insights and support data integrity for informed decision making with internal and external stakeholders
- 4Align funding strategies and resource deployment with asset stabilization goals through cross functional collaboration and oversight of capital activity
- 5Cultivate partnerships with investors, developers, agencies, and other key stakeholders to support asset performance and organizational objectives
- 6Engage in industry learning, contribute to process improvement, and participate in organizational initiatives to advance departmental excellence
Requirements5
- 1Bachelor’s degree in real estate finance, economics, business, accounting, or a related field
- 2Minimum of 2 years of experience in real estate development, finance, rent-restricted multifamily assets, property management, community development, commercial lending, or related disciplines
- 3Understanding of LIHTC regulations with experience in federal, state, and local affordable housing programs preferred
- 4Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- 5Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams
