Community Manager LIHTC, Affordable Housing
Overview
You will own the full operation of Elm Street Commons, a LIHTC community in Los Angeles. You will keep occupancy at 100% while leading a team of 2-3 staff. Your work ensures compliance, resident satisfaction, and financial health. This role offers direct impact on affordable housing communities.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build and execute marketing plans per the Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing Plan to fill vacancies.
- 2Process annual recertifications and maintain waiting lists per Tenant Selection Plan and HUD rules.
- 3Own daily property operations: inspect grounds, buildings, and units; manage work orders in Yardi.
- 4Supervise and train staff, conduct written evaluations, and approve payroll records and timecards.
- 5Handle finances: prepare bank deposits, post payments in Yardi, manage receivables, and assist with annual budgets.
- 6Resolve resident complaints promptly and foster community through resident programs and events.
- 7Build strong relationships with city staff, social providers, and local representatives.
- 8Drive collections and turn over past-due resident balances to collection agencies.
Requirements10
- 12+ years in a supervisory role overseeing at least 1-3 employees.
- 21+ year of Tax Credit experience and current or prior Section 8 voucher experience.
- 32-5 years in property management with comparable responsibilities.
- 4High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5Expertise in Yardi property management accounting software.
- 6Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) designation is a plus.
- 7Financial management and budgeting skills.
- 8Proficient in English and in writing reports; computer literacy in Outlook, Word, Excel, and internet.
- 9Strong customer service, leadership, and communication skills.
- 10Authorized to work in the US.
