What You'll Do9
- 1Provide direct speech and language therapy to students using evidence-based techniques for articulation, language, fluency, and social communication.
- 2Conduct screenings and assessments under supervision, interpreting results to guide intervention.
- 3Develop and implement individualized intervention strategies aligned with student goals and IEPs.
- 4Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district standards.
- 5Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions to advocate for student needs.
- 6Collaborate with teachers, families, administrators, and related service providers to support student success.
- 7Track required CF hours and maintain fellowship documentation to meet ASHA milestones.
- 8Engage in regular supervision sessions and professional development to refine clinical skills.
- 9Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal requirements for school-based practice.
Requirements7
- 1Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- 2Completion of required graduate coursework and supervised clinical practicum.
- 3Eligibility to begin an ASHA Clinical Fellowship.
- 4Eligibility for the California SLP licensure pathway for supervised clinical practice.
- 5Ability to meet California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board requirements.
- 6Ability to obtain the appropriate California Commission on Teacher Credentialing credential or authorization for school-based practice.
- 7Successful completion of required background screening and district onboarding requirements.
