Overview
You will provide ASL to spoken English interpretation for Video Relay Service calls, handling 10+ hours monthly in a flexible schedule. What You'll Do8
- 1Interpret live VRS calls between ASL and spoken English, maintaining accuracy and cultural nuance.
- 2Adhere to FCC regulations and the RID Code of Professional Conduct in every interaction.
- 3Complete assigned paperwork and shift logs within set deadlines.
- 4Learn and implement new interpreting technologies as they are introduced.
- 5Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless relay services during peak hours.
- 6Maintain certification compliance with national, state, and local licensure.
- 7Monitor and adjust to ongoing feedback from call monitoring and evaluations.
- 8Enhance interpreting skills through continued education and training sessions.
Requirements8
- 13+ years interpreting experience preferred.
- 2High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
- 3Certification as required by local regulations.
- 4Pass Sorenson's skills assessment.
- 5Dexterity to operate computer keyboard and handle equipment.
- 6Flexible schedule availability Monday-Saturday, 7am-7pm MT.
- 7Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues.
- 8Work effectively in a regulated, customer-focused environment.
