Shipping Clerk Lead – Inbound Operations
Overview
As the Shipping Clerk Lead, you will own inbound order scheduling and billing across all shifts, directly impacting customer satisfaction at RJW Logistics. You will train associates on inbound processes, ensuring accuracy and AIB standards compliance. Working with dispatchers and operations managers, you will drive improvements and maintain real-time shipment visibility. This role requires a 3-4 years clerical background and a typing speed of 40 wpm.
What You'll Do8
- 1Enter customer orders and scan/index documents using business operating systems.
- 2Schedule delivery of customer loads and update contact info in the computer system.
- 3Communicate delivery schedule changes and service failures to customers.
- 4Handle all inbound billing and train associates on creating outbound paperwork, filing systems, and billing functions.
- 5Verify inbound accuracy and enforce AIB standards in all documentation.
- 6Recommend and implement approved improvements to inbound workflows.
- 7Update reports for operations manager and COO, and assist dispatcher with Tee Cards.
- 8Maintain confidentiality of company information and escalate customer issues.
Requirements8
- 13-4 years of clerical experience in a logistics or transportation environment.
- 2Typing speed of 40 wpm minimum.
- 3Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
- 4High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- 5Ability to read, interpret, and write business reports and procedure manuals.
- 6Strong mathematical skills including fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- 7Experience with scheduling software and business operating systems.
- 8Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work in an office environment.
