Overview
You will run the floor at Back A Yard Caribbean Grill, owning every shift from open to close across our five Silicon Valley locations. You will direct a team of 8-12 staff, handle cash operations, and resolve customer issues in real time. You'll report to the General Manager and attend weekly management meetings to align on sales and staffing goals. What You'll Do10
- 1Deliver an exceptional dining experience to every customer, every shift, by setting the tone for service
- 2Assign all tasks and duties fairly across the shift, matching team strengths to station needs
- 3Assess each team member's abilities and adjust shift duties to boost engagement and workflow
- 4Monitor team performance and step in to fix bottlenecks or errors before they affect service
- 5Manage unexpected no-show situations by reallocating staff and covering stations as needed
- 6Enforce safety and employment policies, reporting disciplinary issues like tardiness to your supervisor
- 7Participate in management meetings to discuss goals, progress, and issues needing resolution
- 8Open and close registers, count drawers, and resolve cash overages and shortages with accuracy
- 9Resolve customer issues and approve exceptions for coupons, returns, and other policy overrides
- 10Train new hires and create development opportunities for experienced staff, providing real-time feedback and recognition
Requirements6
- 11-3 years of experience in a retail or restaurant setting
- 2High school diploma or GED certificate
- 3Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service
- 4Strong verbal and written communication skills
- 5Ability to make decisions quickly and confidently based on company policies and practices
- 6Experience organizing shift tasks and holding staff accountable for completion
