Overview

Full-time YWCA employee leading strengths based support for families experiencing homelessness to secure stable housing and living wage employment. Implement innovative housing and employment strategies while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to strengthen connections between housing stability and living wage jobs.

What You'll Do11

  • 1Conduct comprehensive family assessments including screening intake and placement into emergency shelter to ensure optimal service matching
  • 2Partner with Employment Services staff to develop individualized family development plans supporting housing stability and employment goals
  • 3Meet regularly with assigned families to provide ongoing coaching coordinate services navigate community resources remove barriers to permanent housing and celebrate progress
  • 4Apply best practices in housing navigation and case management through culturally responsive trauma informed strengths based approaches
  • 5Facilitate life skills classes and educational workshops equipping participants with knowledge and practical skills for housing stability financial independence and long term success
  • 6Build positive working relationships with partner hotels and motels to support shelter operations and ensure safe respectful experiences for families
  • 7Participate in supervision team meetings case consultations and professional development activities
  • 8Collaborate with colleagues across YWCA programs including Children and Youth Services Gender Based Violence Intervention and Prevention Economic Advancement and Health and Safety to provide coordinated holistic support
  • 9Develop and maintain partnerships with schools healthcare providers government agencies landlords employers and community organizations to expand resources and improve participant outcomes
  • 10Maintain accurate case documentation in accordance with agency funder and program requirements
  • 11Contribute to welcoming inclusive equitable workplace by participating in Race and Social Justice Initiative and incorporating equity anti racism principles

Requirements5

  • 1At least 2 years of direct social service experience including 1 year working with low income and/or homeless families or victims of domestic violence
  • 2Valid Washington State Driver License personal vehicle insurance and acceptable driving record
  • 3Basic computer competencies such as emailing calendaring entry level data entry and familiarity with Microsoft Office products
  • 4Knowledge of available resources in Seattle King County for low income homeless families
  • 5Preferred knowledge of mental health drug and alcohol issues experience working with communities of color and people from different cultures willingness to work independently and as part of a team
