Sewing Machine Operator, Manufacturing & Assembly
Overview
You own the sewing area at Powermax Logistics Industries, ensuring customer orders are cut, packed, and shipped accurately at a 25-year manufacturing and distribution company. You work with a team of 10+ operators and report to the production supervisor. This role stands out because you'll shape the sewing workflow, recommend new equipment, and keep a Safety First culture across daily operations.
What You'll Do8
- 1Cut and pack material to exact order specifications, verifying against picking lists and system records
- 2Operate sit-down forklift and stand-up reach truck in tight warehouse aisles to move materials and finished goods
- 3Develop the sewing area layout and product flow, recommending new equipment to improve output
- 4Pick, pack, and ship daily sewing orders, managing inventory accuracy for inbound and outbound shipments
- 5Maintain a clean, compliant workspace by sweeping, removing garbage, pallets, and debris
- 6Read orders and stock labels, locate inventory promptly, and communicate face-to-face with coworkers
- 7Prepare outbound customer orders for correct packaging and confirm receipt of all incoming inventory
- 8Handle essential tasks as assigned, adapting to product changes and shift priorities
Requirements8
- 12+ years in a manufacturing environment with product assembly or packing
- 21+ years operating sit-down forklift and stand-up reach truck in tight spaces
- 36+ months experience with sewing machines (preferred)
- 4Basic math skills to count, measure, and verify material quantities
- 5Ability to read stock labels and follow written and verbal instructions
- 6Team-oriented mindset with positive working relationships
- 7Willingness to work day shift, full-time or part-time, on-site in Paramount, CA
- 8US work authorization required
