Service Technician, Multifamily Property Maintenance
Overview
You will own the physical upkeep of a multifamily property, responding to resident service requests and completing preventative maintenance. Working with HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical components, you will ensure units meet Greystar standards for safety and functionality. You will collaborate with a team of technicians and report to the maintenance supervisor, coordinating with vendors and contractors. What You'll Do8
- 1Diagnose and repair issues from resident service requests, covering HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems within 24-48 hours.
- 2Complete the make-ready process for vacant units, including pre-move-out inspections, creating punch lists, and scheduling vendors.
- 3Track inventory for parts and supplies, returning unused items and notifying the supervisor about reorders.
- 4Document all work orders accurately in the maintenance tracking system to ensure proper follow-up.
- 5Maintain grounds and common areas by pressure-washing breezeways, picking up trash, and painting curbs and signage.
- 6Reduce costs by repairing parts instead of replacing them when feasible, and using tools and materials efficiently.
- 7Participate in safety meetings and complete OSHA training to comply with risk-management policies.
- 8Inspect contractor work to verify it meets quality standards and specifications.
Requirements7
- 12+ years in property maintenance or a related trade, with hands-on HVAC repair experience.
- 2EPA 608 Certification Type I and II or Universal for refrigerant recycling.
- 3Valid driver's license to operate a golf cart on property, depending on size.
- 4Ability to lift up to 25 lbs independently and 50 lbs with assistance, and to work in all weather conditions.
- 5Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on-call as needed.
- 6High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in electrical or plumbing is a plus.
- 7Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.
