What You'll Do6

  • 1Build and repair microscopes and optical systems to meet performance specifications
  • 2Design and perform routine preventative maintenance on diverse instruments
  • 3Respond to work orders promptly and document service activities in a clear manner
  • 4Schedule travel and service appointments, coordinating arrangements within and outside MN
  • 5Troubleshoot defective equipment and implement corrective actions with a focus on quality outcomes
  • 6Calibrate instruments per ISO-compliant standards and ensure accuracy across devices

Requirements8

  • 1High School Diploma required
  • 2College, trade school, military, or on the job training in basic mechanical and electronics troubleshooting preferred
  • 3Travel is required 50-75% with local and long-distance duties
  • 4Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • 5Biomedical background helpful
  • 6Previous service experience in microscopes or optics or related fields helpful
  • 7Metrology/Dimensional Calibration desirable
  • 8Must reside in the Greater Minneapolis/St. Paul area or surrounding suburbs
