Service Technician, Entry-Level Field & Shop Repairs
Overview
You will own the calibration, software updates, and safe transport of customer equipment at a stable service company in Chicago. In the first 90 days, you will master the ERP system and Outlook workflows to log every unit that arrives and leaves. You will work alongside a tight-knit crew that values humor and reliability, with 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM hours and full Health, Dental, Vision, and 401K benefits. This role stands out because you will learn hands-on repair skills without prior experience, and you will occasionally visit customer sites to provide direct support.
What You'll Do7
- 1Calibrate and adjust equipment using hand and power tools, ensuring each unit meets manufacturer specs.
- 2Download software updates to machines via PC and verify proper configuration before shipping.
- 3Clean and wipe down equipment, including customer devices, so every unit arrives in pristine condition.
- 4Pack equipment securely for transport, following safety protocols to prevent damage.
- 5Log incoming and outgoing equipment into the ERP system and Excel spreadsheets with accuracy.
- 6Drive to customer facilities when needed to demonstrate machine operation and resolve issues.
- 7Use Word, Excel, ERP system, and Outlook daily to document service records and communicate with the team.
Requirements7
- 1Entry-level aptitude with a mechanical mindset, using hand and power tools confidently.
- 2Basic computer skills, including Word, Excel, ERP system, and Outlook.
- 3Clean driving record and valid driver's license for occasional site visits.
- 4Physical ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- 5High school diploma or equivalent; technical training a plus.
- 6Reliable and punctual, with a sense of humor and team-first attitude.
- 7Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
