Service Technician, Industrial Equipment & Diagnostics
Overview
This Service Technician owns diagnostics and repairs for industrial equipment in a high-volume manufacturing plant, keeping PLCs, HVAC/R systems, and electrical networks running. You will work alongside a team of mechanics and electricians, reporting to the maintenance supervisor. The role combines hands-on repair with CMMS documentation and technical sales support. CMMS software and electrical schematics will be your daily tools as you reduce downtime and uphold safety.
What You'll Do8
- 1Diagnose faults in electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems using ammeters and ohmmeters, then repair or replace parts to restore function.
- 2Perform preventive maintenance on PLCs, scissor lifts, and high-voltage equipment, following schematics and blueprints.
- 3Log work orders in CMMS to track maintenance history and schedule future tasks.
- 4Troubleshoot HVAC/R units and electrical circuits, identifying root causes and implementing fixes within the first 90 days.
- 5Weld components for equipment repair or fabrication using MIG or TIG techniques when needed.
- 6Support sales by advising clients on equipment specifications and maintenance solutions based on your technical expertise.
- 7Adhere to OSHA safety protocols during all maintenance activities, ensuring a zero-incident environment.
- 8Read blueprints and schematics daily to guide repair strategies and minimize production stops.
Requirements9
- 15+ years in industrial maintenance within a manufacturing facility, including electrical and mechanical systems.
- 2Hands-on experience with PLC troubleshooting and HVAC/R repair, verified by work history.
- 3Proficiency with CMMS software for work order management and preventive maintenance scheduling.
- 4Skilled in electrical diagnostics for both low voltage and high voltage systems, with strong blueprint reading ability.
- 5Experience repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including cylinder and valve replacement.
- 6Knowledge of welding processes (MIG, TIG, stick) for fabrication and repair tasks.
- 7Ability to use precision tools: ammeters, ohmmeters, and multimeters.
- 8Familiarity with schematics analysis and circuit diagrams to quickly identify faults.
- 9Strong English communication for documenting work and collaborating with the team.
