Service Center Clerk II Estes Express Lines
Overview
Manage high call volume telephone operations and ensure accurate order shipping documentation. Oversee OS&D freight processing maintain records and resolve freight issues. Coordinate deliveries and address customer inquiries. Handle billing inquiries and escalate matters appropriately. Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
What You'll Do14
- 1Answer telephones with high call volume and direct calls accurately
- 2Maintain count list of items received or shipped and compare against bill of lading
- 3Prepare all paperwork and repackage OS&D freight
- 4Maintain accurate records to report OS&D freight issues daily or weekly
- 5Keep OS&D area clean and organized
- 6Contact customers to schedule freight delivery appointments
- 7Identify and process freight bills requiring special delivery instructions
- 8Respond to customer complaints about billing or services and refer to management
- 9Investigate and resolve inquiries regarding overages shortages and damaged freight
- 10Verify and process paperwork related to claims charges and freight tracing
- 11Scan or image bill of lading receipts and transfer information to bill format
- 12Prepare bills applying appropriate tariffs and charges
- 13Assist with dispatch phone handling to support customers and drivers
- 14Place shipments on-hand and handle dispatch-related tasks
Requirements11
- 1High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience
- 2Experience in billing collections tracing OS&D preferred
- 3Proficiency in MS Word and Excel required
- 4AS400 experience strongly preferred
- 5Strong customer service skills with good clerical abilities
- 6Excellent verbal and written communication listening skills
- 7Ability to lift 20 lbs. or more as required
- 8Compliance with company policies rules and code of conduct
- 9Ability to work independently or in teams under tight deadlines
- 10Physical ability to sit use hands to fingers operate computers and handle freight
- 11Occasional standing walking lifting twisting reaching and occasional exposure to hazardous materials
