Overview
Serve guests at Tre Dita, a fine dining Italian restaurant in Chicago, delivering exceptional service across a 3-6 table section. As part of the Lettuce Entertain You family, you'll work alongside chef Evan Funke in a high-energy, open-hearth setting. This role demands sharp wine knowledge, multitasking skills, and a warm smile. You'll own the guest experience from greeting to payment, ensuring every visit exceeds expectations.
What You'll Do8
- 1Greet guests with a warm, sincere smile and anticipate their needs throughout the meal.
- 2Take accurate orders and use the POS system to process payments and balance receipts.
- 3Deliver food and beverages safely, carrying up to three plates in a single trip.
- 4Follow all steps of service, including bussing tables and maintaining a clean section.
- 5Respond to guest challenges with patience and courtesy, using tact and judgment.
- 6Present current promotions and use sales techniques to encourage menu items.
- 7Understand and communicate menu details, including food allergy procedures and special requests.
- 8Complete alcohol awareness training and comply with safety and sanitation guidelines.
Requirements7
- 11+ years server experience in a full-service restaurant, preferably fine dining.
- 2Ability to lift up to 10 pounds frequently, 25 pounds often, and 50 pounds occasionally.
- 3Stand and walk for entire shifts, navigating stairs, uneven and slick surfaces.
- 4Work in a confined, crowded space with variable noise and temperature levels.
- 5Communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
- 6Multitask calmly and effectively in a busy, stressful environment.
- 7Pass food handling and alcohol service certifications as required by the state.
