Overview
You'll own the guest experience at Friends Kitchen & Cocktail, an upscale spot in DC with a lively scene. You'll deliver 5-star service while handling high-volume shifts, taking orders, mixing drinks, and running a smooth floor. You'll join a tight-knit team that values speed, warmth, and precision. What You'll Do9
- 1Greet guests within 30 seconds of seating, take food and beverage orders, and enter them accurately into the POS system.
- 2Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, and wine following recipe specs and mixology standards.
- 3Process cash and card payments, handle tip-outs, and reconcile your drawer at shift end.
- 4Restock bar supplies and monitor inventory levels, flagging low-stock items to the manager.
- 5Execute side work: polish glassware, wipe down surfaces, and reset tables to health code standards.
- 6Upsell appetizers and premium spirits by suggesting pairings and daily specials.
- 7Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to time food delivery and refill drinks proactively.
- 8Handle guest complaints calmly, offering solutions to turn issues into loyalty.
- 9Adhere to TIPS or ServSafe alcohol certification requirements at all times.
Requirements9
- 11+ year serving or bartending in a busy restaurant or bar.
- 2Hands-on POS experience (Toast, Aloha, or Micros).
- 3Proven cash handling and math skills for split checks and tips.
- 4Working knowledge of classic and modern cocktails, including spirit profiles.
- 5ServSafe or TIPS food and alcohol safety certification.
- 6Ability to stand for 8-hour shifts and lift 30 lbs of kegs and cases.
- 7Open availability for evenings and weekends, including holidays.
- 8Strong multitasking: manage 6 tables and bar rail during peak hours.
- 9Friendly, outgoing demeanor that guests remember and return for.
