Overview
Senior Strategy Officers for the Postsecondary team at Gates Foundation. Lead strategy development and analytical support for Innovative Models and provide flexible strategy support for SPM MLE and other bodies of work. Partner with Principal Officer for Innovative Models and team leads to design analyses and create materials that advance strategic decision-making. Translate insights into actionable plans while fostering inclusive culture and leveraging AI-enabled tools.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead discrete strategy development projects for Innovative Models and critical workstreams for SPM MLE and other PS bodies of work as directed by deputy directors, structuring complex problems and generating evidence-based recommendations.
- 2Serve as connective resource between strategy officers across PS, facilitating monthly strategy officer meetings and reducing duplication of effort across teams.
- 3Lead strategic operations and portfolio management for Pathways Navigation team, including advising and credit mobility, providing project management and investment planning support.
- 4Design and conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses to support strategy exploration and decisions, tracking progress against measurable outcomes and communicating findings clearly.
- 5Lead pipeline and investment management activities, coordinating across program officers and stakeholders to maintain accurate portfolio views and surface risks.
- 6Facilitate stakeholder engagement to inform strategy work and drive alignment across internal and external partners, proactively surfacing and resolving misalignments.
- 7Create and lead communication of strategy analyses and portfolio findings for internal leadership and external partners, translating complex bodies of work into clear narratives.
- 8Provide complex project management support across multiple workstreams, adjusting priorities and approaches in response to shifting context and managing team meetings, retreats, and partner convenings.
- 9Actively adopt AI-enabled tools to enhance and accelerate strategy work, identifying new approaches that create leverage.
- 10Support inclusive culture through modeling behaviors and actions, escalating issues in a timely fashion to appropriate stakeholders.
Requirements10
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 23-5 seasons experience in complex portfolio and program management
- 3Advanced degree or equivalent demonstrated experience in strategy consulting or related fields
- 4Significant experience conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis and synthesizing findings into executive-level communications
- 5Experience working in postsecondary institutions or organizations focused on innovative models in higher education
- 6Proven ability to build collaborative relationships and exercise informal influence across matrixed organizations and diverse external partners
- 7Demonstrated growth orientation and openness to feedback with curiosity for AI-enabled solutions
- 8Unrestricted work authorization in the United States
- 9Background check required for employment
