Overview
Sr Staff SSD Firmware Debug Engineer at KIOXIA leads debugging of SSD firmware failures for data center products. You will collaborate with Product Support Engineering to resolve customer issues and drive root cause analysis. What You'll Do7
- 1Perform debug for SSD Firmware related issues reported from customers
- 2Develop debug firmware in C programming across the SSD firmware stack
- 3Work closely with core firmware development teams to drive issues to resolution
- 4Troubleshoot SSD performance issues and reduce tail latencies while improving IOPS and throughput
- 5Conduct required lab work to replicate reported issues
- 6Create 8D/failure analysis reports and explain findings to customers
- 7Write product use‑case technical white papers as needed
Requirements11
- 1BS degree in computer engineering or equivalent field with minimum 10 years of experience in a technical related field
- 2MS degree in computer engineering or equivalent field with minimum 8 years of experience in a technical related field
- 3Proven NVMe and PCIe experience debugging complex SSD issues
- 4SSD Firmware architecture and/or validation/test experience
- 5SSD Firmware development/debug experience in C programming
- 6Strong understanding of debug tools: PCIe and NVMe protocol analyzers
- 7Data center/server storage knowledge and experience
- 8Familiarity with open‑source SSD tools such as NVMe‑CLI and FIO
- 9Good understanding of Open Compute Platform specifications
- 10Experience with telemetry, host logs dmesg and event logs, and firmware trace logs
- 11Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
