Senior Proposal Manager, Federal RFP & Capture
Overview
You will own and drive complex, multi-billion dollar federal proposal efforts from pre-RFP through submission. Your work directly supports GDIT's mission to secure the nation, with high visibility from GDIT leadership including the CEO. You'll collaborate with capture managers, program managers, and technical experts to craft winning proposals that meet government compliance standards. This role demands strategic thinking, rigorous process adherence, and the ability to coach subject matter experts in persuasive writing. With a hybrid schedule in Herndon, VA, you'll balance on-site collaboration with flexible remote work.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead development of complex, voluminous proposals for Enterprise and multi-billion dollar opportunities, managing all proposal volumes including technical, solution, cost, and others.
- 2Develop proposal strategy that results in high-quality, compliant, and compelling proposals with optimal win probability.
- 3Manage compliance and timely submission of proposals by controlling all activities against the proposal schedule and RFP requirements within GDIT's complex business environment.
- 4Lead development of storyboards, proposal mock-ups, and iterations through final submission, including cost volumes.
- 5Conduct structured kick-off meetings that establish the plan and expectations for all proposal authors and contributors.
- 6Organize and conduct color reviews, collaborating with review leads to generate actionable comments and recommendations.
- 7Coach subject matter experts and contributors in persuasive writing to improve proposal clarity and impact.
- 8Coordinate with proposal center staff, including desktop publishing, production, and graphics, to achieve proposal objectives.
- 9Communicate effectively with senior leadership, including the CEO, during reviews and presentations.
- 10Work under pressure of challenging deadlines for proposals with CEO visibility, maintaining high standards.
Requirements10
- 15+ years of related experience in proposal management.
- 2Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science degree.
- 3Demonstrated experience managing proposals exceeding $100 million in value, including all volume types.
- 4Experience with proposal management artifacts: schedule, outline, compliance matrix, kick-off, storyboards, mockups, color review in-briefs and de-briefs.
- 5Applied formal proposal processes in development of proposals.
- 6Strong time management, prioritization, English language skills, attention to detail, and judgment.
- 7Advanced MS Word and MS Office skills required.
- 8U.S. Citizenship required.
- 9Active SECRET clearance to start, willing to obtain Top Secret with SCI.
- 10APMP Certified - Foundation, or ability to obtain.
