Senior Project Manager, Trading Platform Implementation
Overview
Own the selection and implementation of a new enterprise trading platform from RFP through go-live. This 5+ year veteran will own cross-functional coordination with trading, technology, and operations. You will report to the COO and manage a team of 3 PMs. This role stands apart because you will drive a 10-figure platform migration in Chicago's leading trading firm.
What You'll Do10
- 1Drive vendor selection and RFP process, scoring 3-5 platform proposals against functional and technical criteria.
- 2Coordinate with trading desks to map FIX and API requirements into the implementation plan.
- 3Build and manage the project schedule using MS Project and Jira, tracking milestones and dependencies.
- 4Facilitate monthly steering committee meetings, presenting status and risk to executives.
- 5Manage integration with AWS infrastructure and Kafka event streams.
- 6Run daily standups with engineering, QA, and business teams, resolving blockers.
- 7Oversee UAT with 50 concurrent users, coordinating sign-off on platform features.
- 8Partner with compliance to ensure SOC 2 and FINRA reporting requirements are met.
- 9Manage budget of $5M, forecasting and tracking expenditures.
- 10Mentor 2-3 junior PMs and analysts on deliverable management.
Requirements9
- 18+ years of project management in financial services.
- 25+ years managing trading or capital markets platform implementations.
- 3Hands-on with MS Project, Jira, and Confluence.
- 4Strong understanding of FIX protocol and API integrations.
- 5Experience with AWS or Snowflake data platforms.
- 6PMP or Agile certification preferred.
- 7Bachelor's degree in finance, IT, or related field.
- 8Proven track record of managing 10+ projects simultaneously.
- 9Excellent communication with C-level stakeholders.
Salary Insight
$166 - $198k per year
