Senior Project Engineer, Commercial Construction
Overview
You will own project schedules, submittals, RFIs, and subcontractor procurement on commercial builds in Alexandria, VA. What You'll Do8
- 1Build and update project schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project to track milestones and deliverables.
- 2Process submittals and RFIs in Procore and PlanGrid, ensuring accurate documentation and timely responses.
- 3Coordinate subcontractor bids and procurement, reviewing scopes and aligning with project specs.
- 4Drive project closeout, including as-builts, warranties, and final documentation to hand off cleanly.
- 5Support field coordination by translating drawings into actionable construction instructions.
- 6Track material deliveries and equipment status to prevent schedule slippage.
- 7Communicate daily with project managers and superintendents to resolve project issues.
- 8Learn and apply Lean Construction principles to reduce waste and improve flow.
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or related field.
- 21-3 years of project engineering experience in commercial construction.
- 3Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
- 4Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for tracking and reporting.
- 5Experience with Procore or similar project management software is a plus.
- 6Strong time management and prioritization skills to handle multiple project tasks.
- 7Excellent verbal and written communication skills for team coordination.
- 8Reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic and adaptability.
